Dubréus Lhérisson

Dubréus Lhérisson (Haiti)

Dubréus Lhérisson was born in 1971 in Cap-Haitian. He learned the art of making voodoo flags as a young child, and later the technique of applying sequins to the fabric. After taking over the workshop where he was trained, he developed a new style rooted in traditional techniques of making sculptures and flags with fabrics, skulls, sequins, wax and mirrors. His work has been exhibited all over the world, including in a recent show at Another Space in Brooklyn, NY.
