MISSION
ATLANTIC ARTHOUSE’s goal is to diversify the global contemporary art market by enhancing the place, the understanding and representation of contemporary art and design from the Caribbean Mid-Atlantic.
Considering the challenges of access to art to and from the Caribbean Mid-Atlantic, ATLANTIC ARTHOUSE meets the needs of a hybrid space dedicated to improving the visibility of artists and access to art & design from these regions: through a permanent online platform and a physical curated fair happening once a year.
Why the Caribbean Mid-Atlantic?
The insular and continental Caribbean is a concentrate of and a reflection of the Whole-World through its cultural diversity or creolization as articulated by Edouard Glissant: with a complex heritage of communities from the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the Caribbean represents the Identity of the Future. It is a universal shell that opens its doors to everyone.
By opening up to the Mid-Atlantic region, ATLANTIC ARTHOUSE offers a space for cultural dialogue and critical thinking through art beyond the Caribbean region, by including the Eastern and Western coastal communities of the Mid-Atlantic, spanning from Bermuda to Cap Verde and beyond.
Identifying the insular and continental Caribbean Mid-Atlantic region as a cultural nest for Humanity, a human laboratory to experience Diversity and Otherness, ATLANTIC ARTHOUSE is a Whole-World connecting Humanity to Art through the seas.
Through its plurality facilitating identification by and inclusiveness of all communities, we believe the Caribbean Mid-Atlantic represents the future of the contemporary art market.
